Resources
Assistive Listening Devices
Request complimentary headsets at the ticket counter in the Entry Rotunda to enhance the Dome Theater experience. The headsets increase the intelligibility of theater presentations by enhancing the narration and dialogue and lowering music and sound effects. Headsets are available for use in the theater with most films or digital shows (except for music-only presentations).
Assisted listening devices may not be available for all special events. Please inquire at the ticket counter.
Captioned Screenings
Adjustable captioning devices allow visitors to see captions for their film by using a cupholder device that they can adjust within their view. When you purchase your Dome Theater ticket at the ticket counter, request the closed-caption service. The service is complimentary, and the system is accessible in the upper seating area of the theater.
Caption devices may not be available for all special events. Please inquire at the ticket counter.
Noise-Cancelling Devices
Request noise-cancelling devices for use during your visit at the ticket counter or at the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater.
Wheelchairs
Designated wheelchair areas are available inside the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater. Several restrooms are wheelchair-accessible. For privacy and assisted restroom use, please use the restrooms nearest the Main Exhibit Gallery entrance. For further information or for assistance with elevator access to the second floor, please contact a Fleet staff member at the ticket counter.
A limited number of complimentary wheelchairs are available for use during your visit. Check availability and request a wheelchair at the ticket counter.
Service Animals
The Fleet Science Center welcomes service animals that are trained to assist visitors with disabilities. All service animals must be on a non-retractable leash, harness or tether, and under the control of their handler at all times during your visit. Please note that pets and emotional support animals are not permitted inside the museum.
Accessible Parking
The parking lot off Space Theater Way has designated accessible spaces.
Accompanying visitors
Visitors with disabilities requiring assistance for an enjoyable experience at the Fleet may be entitled to free admission for an aid or companion. Please inquire at the ticket counter for more information.
