SAN DIEGO—Brace yourself for an electrifying exhibition experience as The Fleet Science Center proudly presents the grand opening of The Worst-Case Scenario: Survival Experience on Saturday, July 1.
This extraordinary exhibit, based on the internationally acclaimed The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook series, will transport visitors into a world of thrilling survival strategies and escape tactics.
Visitors will embark on a heart-pounding journey filled with hands-on challenges and mind-bending puzzles, all meticulously designed to provide the essential skills needed to overcome unexpected real-life scenarios. From staying calm under pressure to thinking logically and being prepared, this immersive exhibition will ignite creativity and problem-solving abilities, ensuring readiness for many unlikely—yet possible—scenarios.
As visitors step into the exhibit, they will be surrounded by the iconic imagery from the bestselling book series, creating a visually captivating experience.
Superhero-themed graphics, artifacts and photos will line the Hall of Fame gallery, bringing to life the stories of real-world survival. Visitors can immerse themselves in the minds of these survivors as they discover the skills employed to outwit danger, evade predators and conquer the unimaginable. They can take a moment to honor the everyday heroes who face worst-case scenarios head-on, including emergency first responders, wildlife rescue workers, psychologists and physical trainers.
The adrenaline-fueled action continues in the Survival Gymnasium, where thirteen exhilarating challenges await visitors’ courage and ingenuity. From learning how to jump from a moving train car and picking a lock to escaping from quicksand, surviving an avalanche, each challenge offers step-by-step instructions, expert advice, and immersive training, ensuring development the essential survival skills required in dire situations.
The amazing display of extreme survival tools includes the ingenious uses of everyday items few thought possible. Engaging graphics will reveal how to identify anxiety and fear within the body, shedding light on the impact of stress, physical exhaustion and disorientation in life-or-death situations.
Throughout the Gymnasium are find listening stations where the original audiobook, narrated by Burt Reynolds, provides additional advice and insider tips.
