The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (the Fleet) has been hosting special events since its opening in 1973. The Fleet offers an ideal atmosphere for your next meeting or special event. Featuring eight unique hands-on galleries, the Fleet has more than 100 science exhibits and four spacious meeting rooms (for lectures, board meetings, presentations or luncheons) as well as the 314-seat Eugene Heikoff and Marilyn Jacobs Heikoff IMAX® Dome Theater. The theater is the world’s first IMAX Dome theater, and it offers a dramatic venue for everything from presentations to planetarium shows to private film screenings.

Our galleries provide the perfect ambiance for an elaborate sit-down dinner, cocktail reception, corporate event, wedding, bar/bat mitzvah, awards gala, birthday celebration, prom, or school function. Located in San Diego’s historic Balboa Park (close to downtown and the San Diego Convention Center), the Fleet has a spectacular view of the park’s iconic Bea Evenson Fountain, which serves as the perfect backdrop for your special event.
