For kids ages 10-14

Registration is OPEN

Join us on the second Sunday of every month for new challenges for kids ages 10-14. Each session will be filled with excitement and hands-on activities and will explore different science fields every month, including biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, physics, robotics and more!

    Topics and Dates

    December - Candy Chemistry   

    Sunday, 12/11
    10 a.m.–noon is open to girls only.  SOLD OUT
    1–3 p.m. is open to all scientists.   

    If you have a sweet tooth for confectionery concoctions, candy chemistry is the place to be!  Discover the chemical compounds that make up your favorite sugary treat and perform plenty of sucrose experiments.

    January - Aerospace Challenge    

    Sunday, 1/15
    10 a.m.–noon is open to girls only. 
    1–3 p.m. is open to all scientists.   

    Get ready for lift off! Students will explore Newton’s laws of motion and aerospace engineering as they design and test their own rockets. 

    February - Valentine's Day Science     

    Sunday, 2/12
    10 a.m.–noon is open to girls only. 
    1–3 p.m. is open to all scientists.   

    Express your love for science this Valentine's Day! Experience some hot and cold reactions and other Valentine's Day experiments. 

    March - Pi and Other Treats

    Investigate the notorious and infinite decimal known as pi. Celebrate Pi Day and amaze your friends with math tricks that seem like magic! 

    April - Robotics      

    Sunday, 4/09
    10 a.m.–noon is open to girls only. 
    1–3 p.m. is open to all scientists.   

    Celebrate National Robotics Month with Science Club! Combine science, art, and technology to build gadgets that light up, and spin. 

    May - T-Shirt Chromatography    

    Sunday, 5/14
    10 a.m.–noon is open to girls only. 
    1–3 p.m. is open to all scientists.   

    Tie-dye is so retro! Create your own colorful T-shirt design while learning about chemistry and chromatography. 

    June - The Great Pacific Garbage Patch Challenge      

    Sunday, 6/11
    10 a.m.–noon is open to girls only. 
    1–3 p.m. is open to all scientists.


    Children must problem solve and design a device that helps clean trash and debris from the Ocean.
