The Fleet Science Center to resume operations for the Distance Learning Hubs program

January 27, 2021

San Diego, CA—The Fleet Science Center is resuming the operations of the Distance Learning Hubs on Monday, February 1, 2021, to serve the ongoing needs of parents, students and teachers in the San Diego community to find a place for children to do their distance learning programs. The full-day program combines a facilitated space for kids to complete their school work with an afternoon of hands-on science activities.

Distance Learning Hubs provide a space where students can continue learning while schools operate remotely in an environment that allows for safely-distanced social interaction at the Fleet Science Center.

From its inception on September 21, 2020, 230 students have attended the program with 199 of the seats being provided at no cost. In an effort to reach more students and families, the Fleet Science Center continues to provide the Distance Learning Hubs at no cost to qualifying students.
