Host your special event at the Fleet and create everlasting memories. World-famous Balboa Park provides a perfect locale, and photo ops abound in our galleries and just outside our doors at the majestic Bea Evenson Fountain. Whether it’s a wedding, reception or dinner dance, our Special Events Department will ensure everything is the way you want it.  

Receptions 

• 200 to 1,000 people 
• Galleries or event spaces 
• Tray-passed hors d’oeuvres or small plate food stations 
• Wine and beer service by Craveology 
• Science-themed presentation 
• Experienced event staff 
• Add-ons 
• Documentary screening or gaming session in the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater 

Seated Dinners:   

• 250 maximum 
• Great Hall 
• Food served by a preferred catering partner 
• Wine and beer service by Craveology Café 
• Experienced event staff 

Dances:   

• 150 maximum for seated dinner and dancing 
• 600 maximum for food stations and dancing 
• Great Hall or Upstairs Rotunda 
• Food served by a preferred catering partner 
• Wine and beer service by Craveology Café 
• Music by a preferred DJ or band 
• Experienced event staff 

Weddings and Celebrations:   

• 250 maximum for seated dinner 
• 150 maximum for seated dinner and dancing 
• 600 maximum for food stations and dancing 
• Great Hall or Upstairs Rotunda 
• Food served by a preferred catering partner 
• Wine and beer service by Craveology Café 
• Music by a preferred DJ or band 
• Experienced event staff 

Pricing: 

• Special Event Packages Start at $8,000  
• Fleet Science Center Members receive a 10% Discount on all Special Events. 

The following is a list of the vendors preferred for events at the Fleet Science Center.  Although you are not required to use these vendors and may bring in your own Catering or Equipment Vendors, we reserve the right to approve any vendors not on our preferred list.  Outside Vendors are subject to additional fees.
