Looking for something exciting, fun and educational this winter break? The Fleet offers full-day camps in winter for kids in grades 1–3 both in-person and virtually. The camps take place at the Science Center, and are designed to include fun, educational, hands-on activities while incorporating the Fleet's general exhibit galleries.

At the Fleet Science Center, we love to have hands-on experiences for all of our students in an environment that is positive, fun, and safe. Our in-person camps provide a space where students can have hands on learning alongside other students.

Virtual Camps : Week of December 21 - 23

Camps from the comfort of your own home! Every one-hour virtual camp will be filled with challenges, hands-on activities that can be done using materials found in your home and has challenges aimed for students in grades 2–4. Sign up for one or bundle a week together and save!

Each Virtual Program includes:

  • Prepackaged materials ranging from craft supplies to specialty items packed by our Science Educators. 
  • Additional Educational content and challenges
  • Video content that introduces the challenge and provides strategies for caregivers in confidently facilitating these activities. Designated live virtual weekly meetings with a Fleet Science Educator to keep everyone connected, share results and ask questions.

Materials Pick Up

Curbside pick-up for camp materials will be available on Friday December 18 at the Fleet Science Center from 9:30-10:00a.m. and 3:00-3:30p.m. Pick-up will be located at the Business Entrance on the south side of the building, adjacent to the parking lot. To get to the South entrance from Park Boulevard, turn on Space Theater Way and make an immediate right into the parking lot adjacent to the building. The Fleet Science Center is located at 1875 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101.

Please note: Virtual programs are not a replacement for parental supervision, and we cannot assume responsibility for your child. We recommend that one responsible member of your household retain a supervisory role during virtual programming to ensure safety, watch your scientist superstar shine, or offer a helping hand for a trickier project.
